Week 37 - Training and other scary stuff!

March 27, 2017

Monday night, the assistants called me to tell me I was going to train (They called at 2 am...)
And on Tuesday, I sent my Step Son, Elder Arguello to Mexico, and went to the mission home to pick up my new Son hahaha.
So I got there, and instantly found out that the Gringos in the new group were in the same district as Jaden Argyle in the CCM! Anyways, expecting a latino kid... I was given ELDER SMITH From Washington!!!! Woohoo, I'm training a Gringo!!

He's super awesome and super prepared to be a missionary already! Best Part... he's Blonde like me hahaha

This week we went to work right off the bat, I wanted to make sure he knows that its work to be here, so that he would get used to it. He's so great and doesn't have any fear to talk with the people, even with the language barrier!

We worked soo hard, but only got one new person to church by the time we had arrived. I was bummed with the results, thinking we should have been able to bring more people. When one of our other investigators showed up, bringing his son with him for the first time!! And he accepted, a baptism date! His name is Ivan!! He acepted a baptismal date, so we will see.

We also have a woman named Laura, who started coming to church, and a man named Ruben. Ruben is super awesome, just needs to get married. This week were gonna go and help him set up the wedding date!! WooHoo

Also, I never share these stories, but I want to share this one this week.
So on Saturday night, while leaving an investigators house with Cesar (Our Ward Mission Leader) Some sketchy looking 20 year old stopped us to ask questions about the church. After sharing the Book of Mormon with him, we left to go contact someone, and Cesar left to go home. We got half a block away and the Sketchy dude (Matias) started yelling "Hey Chicos, Esperen" (Wait). I told E Smith to keep walking fastly and act like we didn't hear, and we hauled out of there. I called Cesar and told him, "Hey, um He's chasing us, please come back." We got 3 blocks away and Matias Reached us. As soon as he put his hand on my shoulder, Cesar came to a sliding stop on his bike right next to us (Literally it was so cool like the movies). Cesar is a pretty strong guy, who used to play soccer for the professional Boca team here. So he saved us hahaha

And the next morning we had to go to the same place to take our investigator to church. Cesar came with us again, and when hewasn't  looking, Matias robbed a huge bag that he had. So yeah.

But the point, was the miracle timing that Cesar had to save us haha. Count your blessings!

Love you Alll!!!!

Elder Ryan

Week 36- Ciao Arguello/Hamburgers

March 20, 2017

So, Elder Arguello we know for sure is leaving tomorrow to his Mission in Mexico. Tomorrow is also transfers, so I won't know until then who will be my new comp.
Some fun things that happened this week, on Friday President Smith took me and Elder Arguello out with his family to eat, to do a farewell from the mission for my comp. They took us to... PF CHANGS!!! There is only ONE that exists in all of Argentina, It. Was. Amazing. Lettuce wraps, and everything hahaa.

Also I got sick of the fake hamburgers they make here, and one day we went and bought real meat, and everything else I needed, and I showed my comp what a real hamburger is haha.

This week Heber got Baptized!! Things are going pretty well in Suarez right now. We want to start working with them and all the rest of the family members to help them come back to church, and get baptized.

We also found a woman this week named Laura. She didn't make it to church, we stilldon't  know what happened, but we have had some pretty spiritual lessons this week with her, and she even began to cry a few times with the spirit.

I'm excited to start this transfer and just FIND people. My biggest problem right now is keeping up my excitement to just talk with anybody. Once I get past the first rejection of the day, is usually when i feel good talking with anybody, but somedays its hard. Our President wants us to find 10 New Inv. every week. With E Santos we had 12 one week, but I want to reach it one more time!!

Thats about all from this week! I Love you All!! Stay Safe!!

Week 35- 1/3 Served!

March 13, 2017

Woah... a third of the mission already gone. It flies by so fast!

This week was full of many meetings, Interviews with President and... BAPTISM :) Sandra Gaona (Daughter in the family we are teaching) Got baptized this week, and pray that her brother Heber will get baptized this weekend!

But yeah, its been a busy week, and we lost a lot of time proselyting due to everything.
During my interviews with President Smith, I was able to get lots of good advice in how to find more people. Afterwards he was able to update me about Elder Santos, and hes doing extremely well!!!

Alright I know a lot of you get mad when I don't write a ton, but I don't have a lot to write about this week.. Sorry

Keep reading your scriptures, Praying, and Going to church. Its not much what God asks us to do, and so many blessings come with them!!!

I Love you All soooo Much!!
Have a Great Week!

Week 34 - Work and Desire

March 6, 2017

The Mission really starts blending together.
To explain this week in a few words: Sickness, work, and desire.

As the mission goes on, my desire to change myself, to work even more than what I'm doing, and to just do the will of the Lord grows crazily! It's so weird, because I can see the Lord´s hand in all of it.
Its Incredible.

Really Me and Elder Argüello are just trying to work hard and find new people to baptize. We have gotten advice from leaders and President, and we're just trying to apply it. Little by little and with LOTS of work we have more results and Miracles.

Theres a ton of people I could talk about, but I'm still not sure if they will turn out to be real possibilities.

The Family Gaona is doing so good! Im hoping soon to be able to include a bunch of their children who live close by. They have lots of kids that are already married and live in all the houses around their area. The only problem is a lot of them are angry with the Dad. But We want to reactivate those who are already members and baptize those that aren't with the Parents too!

Last night we had 15 minutes left to work before we had to go back to the apartment. We were one New Investigator away from reaching our goal this week. So I told my comp, We are going to find an Elect in the next 15 minutes and we are going to reach our goal. At every corner we said a prayer to know where to go. After 5 Minutes, a man yelled to us that he had a question. Turns out, he had heard the Elders from over 5 years ago, and his son got baptized! But he couldn't get baptized because he wasn't married to his girlfriend (and they lived together) And now they are separated and there are lots more people in the family. We taught him a quick 10 minute lesson, and have an appointment this week!!!

Love you all! Read, Pray, Go to Church, and Repeat ;)

Have a great week!!!!!
