Week 70 - 16 months today

Nov 13, 2017
Time is passing nice and smoothly

Well this week was pure Craziness!

One we had meetings EVERYDAY from 8 in the morning til about 5 sometimes 6 or 7. Only Saturday we had the whole day to work.

Tuesday President Smith came to our district meetings. He asked me and Elder Ortiz to run a Zone Meeting instead. It turned into a very serious discussion about how we are going to raise what we are doing. And after 3 brutal hours, with Presidents help we found some solutions!

The solution has to do with a lot of numbers, but to give you the quick pitch, we decided the only way to raise what we are doing, is to get more work done. We can’t change the mission schedule, so we have to work more efficiently and be more focused to be able to achieve it.

A few months ago, the Zone was finding about 40 new investigators a week, we now find about 70 (6 per area). But with some math help from President, we found out we need to be finding 130 new investigators (10 per area) per week to be able to baptize the number of people we want. Big Difference.

To be able to make a jump like this, it requires a few things. One, to stop looking at the goal as a high bar to reach, and start seeing it as the minimum. Then you need to work more efficiently, thinking always in the Work we are involved in, and spending every moment trying to find or teach. Every Moment. Lastly, you have to build true desires to achieve it, so that the fire of the work never dies.
And True Desires, true excitement that motivates someone to work, come from the Spirit. So as a mission we have decided to make goals to become better in our Christlike attributes, in reading the scriptures everyday, to become more spirituals. We know that the Spirit will motivate us with a fire that does not die.

After the Tuesday meeting, we had meetings every morning the whole week with other Zone leader and with our Zone to spread what we learned!

To finish off the week, our Zone jumped up to 110 new investigators!! We hope to keep it up, but more importantly to maintain it. The numbers represent our desires and offerings that we offer to the Lord. They help us measure our own progress, so that we get better, and come closer unto Him.

Love you All!!
Elder Ryan
